Privacy Policy
JanuaryCalendar.com has no accounts or forms and does not ask for personal information. It uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure how the site is used. This policy explains what that involves and the limited data needed to deliver pages and files.
Analytics: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
Every page loads Google Tag Manager, a Google service that in turn loads Google Analytics. Google Analytics records how visitors use the site: the pages viewed, how a visitor arrived (for example from a search engine), the type of device and browser, screen size, language, approximate location at city or country level, and the time of each visit.
To recognize returning browsers, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, such as _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. By default these can last up to two years. The data is processed by Google under Google's own privacy policy.
The site's editors see aggregated reports, such as page views and traffic sources, and use them to decide which pages to improve. The site does not use analytics data to identify individual visitors and does not sell it.
How to opt out
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts, or install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The calendars, PDFs and every other part of the site work the same with analytics blocked.
What the site does not collect
There are no accounts, sign-ups, comment boxes or contact forms, so there is nothing to submit. The site does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.
Week-start preference in your browser
The calendars let you choose whether weeks start on Sunday or Monday. That one setting is saved in your browser's localStorage so the calendars remember it on your next visit. It stays on your device and is never sent to the site's server; you can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
The same script highlights today's date and the current month, runs the New Year countdown from your device's clock and opens your browser's print dialog when you press Print. None of these features send data anywhere.
Server logs
The hosting provider that serves the site may keep standard server logs. These typically include your IP address, your browser's user agent, the URL requested and the time of the request. The logs are used for security, such as blocking abuse, and for operations, such as diagnosing errors.
Printable PDF downloads
The printable calendars are static PDF files. Downloading one requires no email address or sign-up.
Email messages
If you write to contact@januarycalendar.com, your email address and message are used only to read, reply to and act on your message, such as fixing a reported error. They are not sold, shared for marketing or added to a mailing list. Privacy questions can be sent to the same address; the contact page has details.
Children's privacy
The site is a general-audience reference used at home, in classrooms and in offices. It has no forms or accounts and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy is updated whenever the site adds or changes a service that handles visitor data, such as advertising. The about page describes how the rest of the site works.
